    Egans Creek Greenway Nature Walks on Amelia Island Thursday, October 16th, 2008

    Leisurely walking tours that will explore the flora and fauna of the Greenway…The walks are held the third Saturday of each month from 9:00-11:00am guided by Our Greenway volunteers. Participants are asked to register in advance by calling the Atlantic Center office at 904-277-7350 at least one week in advance. Participants should also park and meet at the Greenway entrance behind the Atlantic Center and are encouraged to bring water, sun protection, insect repellent and comfortable walking shoes. Field guides and binoculars are optional.

    The 300-acre Greenway lies between Atlantic Avenue and Sadler Road. This protected area has a network of trails suitable for walking or bike riding. Local wildlife such as alligators, snakes, bobcats, otters and many birds may be enjoyed from a distance. Entrances are located behind the Atlantic Recreation Center and from Jasmine Street. There is currently no entry/exit on Sadler Road. The Greenway is open from dawn until dusk. Brochures and trail maps are available at the Atlantic Center or online at www.fernandinabeachflorida.org.

    Fernandina Beach Skate Park at Main Beach Thursday, October 16th, 2008

    The Skate Park is available to all skateboarders, in-line skaters, scooter riders and roller skaters. Skate Park rules are displayed at the park and are strictly enforced. All users are required to submit injury release waivers (available from facility supervisor or the Atlantic Center) prior to admittance. You may purchase a daily or annual pass. Hours are 2:00pm to Dusk.

    Annual Pass: City Resident - $25 and Non-City Resident - $35
    Daily Pass: City Resident - $1 and Non-City Resident - $3
